Angie Comer
Writer | Director
Passionate & authentic creator crafting the unforgettable

Angie did not choose writing and directing; it chose her. A fangirl of horror, dark comedies and true crime, Angie started writing specs for her favorite TV shows. She won her first production grant in 2007 and the second in 2009 with AFI. Angie is an active member of the film groups AWD and NFMLA.

With 7 short films, 8 feature scripts and TV pilots to her credit, Angie's work pushes the boundaries of visionary excellence. Her raunchy, all Black 80's themed animated TV Pilot script, "High School High" was a Finalist with the Sundance Episodic Program.

And Angie's latest short film, "The Smartest Dumb Girl" features stand-up comedians Jenny Zigrino of FabUless and Zainab Johnson of Amazon Prime's Upload, has screened at more than 10 film festivals, including the Academy Award Qualifying LA Shorts Int'l Film Festival. Angie recently created a new TV pilot, "Welcome, Back, Carter," a dark and masterful re-imagining of a classic sitcom.
Angie's feature screenplay, "Spitting Fire" won Best Screenplay at the Chicago Script Awards, Film Invasion LA, a Quarter-Finalist spot with the prestigious Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship, a Finalist with the Storyline Script Contest and a Runner-Up with the TableRead My Screenplay Competition. Angie's new elevated horror/comedy feature script #ALONE is a Finalist with 2026 FadeIn Horror Screenwriting Competition. Angie is currently attached to direct both "Spitting Fire" and "#ALONE."
